How Export Collection Works?

After shipping the goods, the seller presents the shipping documents such as invoices and bills of lading etc, to your bank - with instructions to send to the buyer’s bank. The buyer’s bank releases the shipping documents to the buyer against the buyer’s payment or acceptance of a bill of exchange that is paid on a certain agreed future date.

In a collection under URC522, the bank acts to hold the documents pending payment or promise of payment by the importer.
