What is real-time payment?
Real-time payments (RTP) are payments that are initiated and settled nearly instantaneously. A real-time payments rail is the digital infrastructure that facilitates real-time payments. Ideally, real-time payment networks provide 24x7x365 access, which means they are always online to process transfers. This includes weekends and holidays.
What kind of real time payment Omni Collect supports?
HSBC Omni Collect supports below real time payment methods:
- Hong Kong FPS
- Malaysia DuitNow
- Singapore PayNow
- Vietnam VietQR
Above real time payment is directly integrated with HSBC. Hence HSBC developed a set of payment simulation API for developers to test. This document would guide developers on how to use HSBC simulation API.
P.S. Australia Azupay, United Kingdom Open Banking, India UPI are also real time payment methods that HSBC Omni Collect supports. But those payment methods are integrated with external payment service provider, hence they do not apply in simulation API.
